Lade House is a converted cottage style property, accommodating eight people. Once through the large oak front door, the house opens to a light and airy home. The house offers a range of studio accommodation with en-suite facilities over two floors and a large flatlet on the second floor. There are established, level-access gardens to the rear of the property and onsite parking at the front for three vehicles.
Lade House is situated in the Upperton area, part of Eastbourne’s old town. The newly extended ‘Beacon’ shopping centre, library and railway station are within walking distance, there is also a regular bus service available to the town. The large rear garden backs onto Gildredge Park with tennis courts and bowling greens. As we are in a seaside town you are not far from the famous ‘carpet gardens’ the centrepiece of Eastbourne’s promenade and sea views. This location offers the best of both worlds.
Lade House is a traditional Abbeyfield House with lunch and supper provided by our own staff, daily in the communal dining room. Breakfast is self-catered, with provisions of your choice supplied by us as part of your tenancy. Many tenants meet for morning coffee in the lounge area, creating a social environment and friendly atmosphere. Tenants at the house help to arrange the summer garden party and share their views and ideas at the regular house meetings.
Abbeyfield House staff are available daily. Our house staff are there to provide your catering service and be a source of support, to aid your independence. We are not able to provide personal care or assistance with medication but we can help you to arrange the support you need in these areas.
