Ridge House is a traditional Abbeyfield House that holds the values of our founder Richard Carr Gomm very close. This is a converted three-storey building, which accommodates seven people in single studio accommodation. The house has pleasant front and rear gardens, is warm and homely and run very much like a family home.
St Leonards-on-Sea is part of Hastings, East Sussex, though it retains a sense of separate identity. It lies to the west of central Hastings. This is a traditional seaside area, with its shingle beach, fish & chip shops and the delights of the old town. Its Victorian cliff railway offers fantastic views, stretching to Beachy Head and out to the English Channel. Hastings old town is also home to the unique ‘Net Shops’ – approximately 50 black wooden sheds standing in neat rows on the shingle beach, formerly used by the fishing community.
Lunch and light supper are provided by our house staff daily, in the communal dining area. Breakfast is self-catered with provisions of your choice supplied by us as part of your tenancy. Tenants are also supported by the committed ‘Friends of Ridge House’ volunteer team that offer companionship and arrange special events and trips. Part of life at the house, are the house cats. The presence of pets adds to the homely atmosphere.
Visiting hairdresser, chiropodist and optician services are available at the house.
Abbeyfield House staff are available daily. Our house staff are there to provide your catering service and be a source of support, to aid your independence. We are not able to provide personal care or assistance with medication but we can help you to arrange the support you need in these areas.
