Our Houses

Abbeyfield South Downs offers accommodation to people over the age of 55 in our converted houses, creating individual homely environments in all different styles. Each house offers a variety of studio accommodation with door entry system, communal space and gardens for tenants to use when they wish. Each house maintains its own personality. This is because the people that live in the house influence the house service and decisions.

All our studio accommodation is fully carpeted and let unfurnished so that you can install your own furniture and private possessions.

We provide the breakfast items you choose for self-catering and two meals a day, which are prepared at the house by our own staff. Our house staff will get to know you and your preferences, just like a family. Each house has an individual approach to catering for their tenants, with menus being tailored to dietary needs and special events. But we always offer plenty of choices, including vegetarian options, and great portion sizes!

In our houses there is always someone to say, Good morning, how are you? Communal living and dining create the opportunity for companionship with the privacy of your own accommodation and effectively, whatever level of privacy you determine for yourself.

All our houses have fire alarm monitoring and access to a community alarm service, so you can always contact someone for help, even when our staff are away from the house.
